The launch of the 2017 Christmas Tree Festival on Friday 1st December was a huge success. Stuart Parsons, the Mayor of Richmond, came to open the festival, and Musicality Ladies' Choir provided some brilliant festive entertainment.
With 23 Christmas Tree, this year's festival is bigger and better than last year's, with trees from groups including Richmond Rotary Club, Richmondshire Youth Theatre, 3rd Richmond Brownies and Guides, Richmond Methodist Primary School, and the Richmond Branch of the Royal British Legion.
One of the highlights of the Festival is the 'Tour de Swaledale' tree, decorated by Richmond Methodist Church CAMEO group, with knitted sheep and bicycles, biscuit chapels and a delicate paper model of Richmond underneath. Have a look at the gallery for photos of this year's trees.
